This English retreat explores Henri Nouwen’s The Return of the Prodigal Son. Nouwen’s first encounter with a detail from Rembrandt’s painting The Return of the Prodigal Son came during a visit in Trosly and gave Nouwen the inspiration to visit St. Petersburg to see the original. Nouwen gave a framed image of the detail he first saw to La Ferme de Trosly. Nouwen died in 1996 in Holland en route to St. Petersburg. His plan was to record a documentary on his personal journey with Rembrandt’s painting, and his reflections on Luke’s Gospel story of the loving father and two sons. You can explore your personal journey as a son, a daughter, a brother, a sister, a father or a mother during this retreat.

Program: During the session, there will be lectures, times for individual and group prayer, sharing and meditation. You will also be able to take part in evening celebrations and sharing sessions. This silent retreat begins Sunday evening and ends Saturday after breakfast.
